Momberger Airport Information was established by two people, Manfred Momberger and Karin Momberger, a couple married since 1967. They have been associated with civil aviation since 1966. Both have worked for Dornier, the German aircraft manufacturer, and Interavia, the international aviation publishers then based in Geneva/Switzerland, before setting up their own business in Germany back in 1973. Both have a diploma degree in Foreign Studies from Mainz University in Germany. Their main product has been the pink newsletter, called 'Momberger Airport Information' since 1992. The previous title was 'airport forum news'.

As of 1 January 2009, the ‘Momberger Airport Information’ title was sold to their collaborator Martin Lamprecht in Canada who will continue publishing the modular newsletter with the special sections DEV (Airport Development worldwide), ATC (Air Navigation Services News), CON (Consultant & Contractor News), GSE (Ground Support News), MRO (Maintenance Base News), and OPS (Airport Operation News).
The CAT (Aviation Catering News) section remains with the Mombergers and will be edited and published by them, together with a comprehensive Flight Kitchen Directory. They also provide marketing support to their subscribers.
